This was one of thousands of coins of King Gondaphares found in the Afghanistan gandhara Lahore areas of ancient India during 19th century excavations. the 3rd/4th century AD Acts of Judas Thomas the apostle of Christ describes St. thomas as havig been brought to the King Gondaphares for building a palace. When the coins were discovered by the Govt. of India's Archaeological Survey of India in large quatities the King was known only through the Acts of judas Thomas which was considered ONLY pure a legend or fiction until then.
